Editor is still experiencing some problems due to Google Services and OSM Elevation down at same time. Honestly at the moment we don't know if we are able to fix it in a short time.

You can still, for the moment, use the editor importing a GPX on it to get profiles.

Shoutbox is off as we are tired of people abusing it.

Important communication about the editor

Post by emmea90 » 17/07/2018, 22:33

As you probably have read elsewhere, Google Maps decided to raise his prices with an increase of paid quota plus a decrease of free API usage.

The prices required are no longer comparable with a massive use of the editor.

The editor will fast migrate on OSM maps considering the possibility to add more maps (example bing) in future. Google maps will be used at the moment by the staff only for the race database part.

As soon as google services will be down, we will remove the usage of the Google direction Service for routing, using yournavigation as replacement. In the next day the elevation service will be replaced and then, as final part, the whole Google Maps.

As a lot of code has to be changed in this part, please report us any bug.

Thank you for your comprehension

We are probably going to open again the editor today or tomorrow, without the maps, that will be re-opened in a second time.

Open Street Map Editor is Open

Maps of climbs, cobbles and white roads will be opened in a second time.

We are aware that there could be a problem in tracking in North America and some other small countries and we will fix them in a second time.

We are aware that labels of sprints disappears at click, for the moment it's a design choice.

In case of other bugs, please report them in this topic.
Please don't spam us mail and PMs that we won't answer. Everything related about the situation will be published on that topic and that topic only.

Congratulations :ave:
For now I noticed only that the search box and the transparent/opaque thing are not working. Surely a minor thing!

We are going to experiment in next 2 days google API keyless with routing and elevation. Further communication will follow after seeing how google api keyless will react.

OSM APIs should now came as fallback of the google ones

hi,
I have some troubles when the route crosses streets which are closed couse of the snow(mountain passes). this is the error report:" the route you marked is not available to the traffic (due to snow, etc) ". I know I could track with the "free mode" but it's so boring... Is it a temporary problem????

I have the same problem as marco.berri, even when plotting stages in inner cities like Turin. Hope you'll be able to fix it, as I really love your editor!

It's unfortunately a seasonal problem. Google can go only on open roads

Hi!

When I try to create a new route using draw profile button, it doesn't run. The map becomes grey and the profile is never created. I think that route editor is failing. Besides, I have tested using three different browsers: Firefox, Chrome, and Explorer. I hope that this problem can be resolved since the route editor is Amazing and very Useful.

Changing the routing service to OpenStreet should resolve the problem in some cases
