Re: Pesallu Grand Tours
Just had a look
- What you call "col de Tentes" is better "Cirque de gavarnie". I prefer to reserve the word "Col" at the top point of the pass
- Col des Encombres is, unfortunately, not practicable in a Tour de France as the surface is very dirty in the top (with lot of holes). I think that is a really hard stage to be placed in the second week
- The same for Col de Voza (and i think the descent is too hard)
- I really don't like the stage distribution. Basically you have three sprints in the last four days of the race, and no sprints between stage 7 and 18. I think moving up to Paris could be a thing of early 2000's TDF, not actual ones. I would've at least saving a stage going from Troyes side.

Re: Pesallu Grand Tours
I know I included several unpractical Cols but I wanted to add some new names. I called Col de Tentes because Cyclingcols does it and regarding the tour's distribution, I see your point but I suppose it's a matter of taste. Nevertheless, Thanks for the tips.emmea90 wrote:Just had a look

It's an Ski resort in the french pyrenees near the border with Andorra, it's also called Mollera dels Clots (http://www.cyclingcols.com/col/MolleraDelsClots). It seems hard, but the percentages never exceed 10% although it's 17 km long

Giro d'Italia by Pesallu
This is a decent proposal for a hectic Giro d'Italia, across Italy from south to north, from Taranto to Milano.
This giro includes:
- 6 flat stages
- 5 medium mountain stages
- 7 high mountain stages mostly gathered in the infernal final week with finishes ( Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Montecampione, Alpe di Pampeago...)

Re: Pesallu Grand Tours
Finally you did the Giro!!! I'm so jealous of the quality of your maps, amazing! Keep up the good work
PS: Cima Coppi climb is only supposed to be the highest pass of the race. The 1st Category and HC climbs are both named 1st Category climbs. For example: if you have the Monte Zoncolan and the Passo dello Stelvio in the same Giro, Stelvio would be the Cima Coppi and Zoncolan would be a 1st Category (even though it's an HC)

Tour de France Contest
Le Tour de Cheese
Cheese is one of the most magical and delicious creations to ever grace this earth and France produces more than 400 types of superb cheese.
The Grand Départ will be Emmental, Canton de Berne in Switzerland, another awesome cheese producer country.
FAVOURITES
Tour de France Podium Favourites are:
Chris Froome, the man to beat. 3 time winner of the Tour de France Chris Froome is the main favourite to be crown in Champs-Élysées on July 23rd. This year his strenghts in the mountain are similar to other favourites like Richie Porte or Romain Bardet. However, his excellent TT skills favour him over the other contenders
Richie Porte. Richie has had a strong season so far, winning the Tour Down Under, the Tour de Romandie and finishing 2nd in the Dauphine. Probably, the only one who can beat Froome in the TT, so he's a clear podium candidate.
Nairo Quintana. Same level as Froome in the high mountain but his TT skills reduce his aspiration to win the Tour
Romain Bardet. The frech hope, he has improved significantly in the mountain although he is still one steep back in the TT over his rivals Froome or Porte.
Fabio Aru. He's been pushing hard lately, his defiant style in the mountain favour him but TT is his weakness.
Alberto Contador. During the decline of his career he can achieve Top5 if crashes in the first week don't dwindle his strenghts.
Grand Départ
The race will start in Emmental region, Switzerland. It starts in the spectacular Emmental AOP Show Dairy of Affoltern im Emmental, where Emmentaler swiss cheese is produced.
The Route
This Tour will visit the most iconic cheeses of France, and some regions of Switzerland.
Running from Saturday July 1st to Sunday July 23rd, the Tour de France will be made up of 21 stages and will cover a total distance of 3,532 kilometres.
- 8 flat stages
- 6 hilly stages
- 5 mountain stages including altitude finishes (Ordino-Arcalis, Courchevel Altiport, Plateau de Solaison)
- 2 individual time-trials stages ( 57 km totally)
