IMPORTANT: Routing and Elevation API are limited to 7000 calls per day. In case they are expired, they won't work until limit is re-charged. You can try in this case to do a GPX on RideWithGPS site and import it on the editor

Climbs map RELEASED!

Post by Pigna »

Image

The climbs map is available!

The moment that we talked about all summer is finally here, the map of the climbs and the relative archive are finally online!
In this moment the map includes more than 8000 climbs, of which 4000 in Italy and 2500 in France. The map is clearly still incomplete, and many countries, such as Spain (800) and Belgium, haven't yet an appropriate number of climbs. For examples Belgium has few climbs, because inizially the archive didn't support graphically short climbs.
Clearly this is only a starting point and the number of ascents is likely to become much larger. That's thanks also to you, which you can contribute proposing climbs thanks to the new approval system. You just select "Ascent" instead of "Stage" in "New Track". Furthermore in the future will be released more graphic styles.
Please, report every bugs, especially in these two days, in which we can provide immediately to solve them.

The map and the archive are available from the editor's home, I remind the links:
Editor: maps/editor
Map: maps/tracks/maps/2
Archive: maps/tracks/?trackfamily=2

Awesome job.
The climb of Lischiazze should be renamed as Sella Carnizza because Cyclingcols, Climbbybike, Quaeldich and salite.ch all have it named as that and it would be much easier to find that climb.

This is fantastic, thank you guys! :)

About suggesting the climbs, two of mine were recently rejected, the first for too long a flat section, which is fair enough, although the climb is recognised as a mountain and part of several Peaks challenges in the area, so I'm not sure about that. As for the other, it was disallowed the name was too general, the mountain is called Lake Mountain though and doesn't really have another name. So it'd be good to know what to do about that. :)

I strongly want to report all to insert the country when you submit a climb or similar, otherwise will be rejected.

If you need more countries, please ask in the feature topic.
