Contest #6 - Tour de France 2021

Contest #6 - Tour de France 2021

And here we are with the yearly contest about Tour de France.

You have to re-draw and improve 2021 Tour de France

Constraints
- Gran Depart should be kept in Bretagne. So Stages 1, 2 and 3 should start and finish in Bretagne, Stage 4 shall start there.
- Of course you have to end TDF in Champs-Elysees. This means that stage 20-21 transfer shall be 'realistic'
- You cannot repeat key parts of Tour de France 2020 real stages
- You have to put a stage start or a stage finish in at least 7 different france regions
- Alps before Pyrenees is a constraint this year.
- Also inserting Mont Ventoux from Bedoin in the route is a constraint.
- Again, like 2020, you are not allowed to leave France for the whole route. All the Kms of Tour de France shall be in France. The only ones exception admitted will be Monaco and Andorre.
- You must have from 5 to 7 stages for pure sprinters, Paris included - and no more than 2 of them consequently
- There should be at least 2 high mountain stages that does NOT end in a MTF

Deadline will be Saturday 24/7/2020, h 23.59

Tour must be done using Tour de France - 2019 profiles, with Large X-Size and normal slopes on to have an easy comparison between different routes.

Please put ALL the routes under spoiler tag in this topic

People using correctly spoiler tags will get +1 bonus to be added to the presentation bonus.

Does the constraint of a single stage in each department of Brittany remain? (e.g one in Morbihan, Finistere etc.) I suppose in that case a stage only starting in Brittany would depart from Ile-et-Villaine
Also, does Brest have to host the start of stage 1?

Does this mean, that we cannot have for example an ITT to La Planche des Belles Filles, or that we can't go there whatsoever, even as a part of a road stage?

Also, does a stage with cobblestones (and without hills) count as sprinters stage?

is it mandatory to finish the last stage on the Champs Elysees? Can't you always choose a new final goal in Paris?

5 to 7 mass sprint stages in total but no more than two in a row.

Rules say so.

So the Pyrenees are at the end, as they actually are this year?

Well Alps before pyrenees doesn't necessarily mean Pyrenees come last. I'm sure it would be ok to then finish in the Massif Central before a transfer to Paris for instance.

No. The important is that Alps are before, then Pyrenees.

Mont Ventoux is NOT considered Alps.

1) Yes
2) No. Sprinters stages are expected mass sprint stages. The ones in which UCI applies 3'' protocol.

Yes, it is. It's not mandatory to do a circuit, or to do a mass sprint, but it's mandatory to end there.

Another question. Do you think it would be feasible to start the race with an ITT on the Ile d' Ouessant? I have no problems changing the plans, if it can't be done.

I don't know the rules of the contest so Emmea will say if so, but the ferry time from Brest to there (so presumably the reverse back to mainland) takes roughly 2 hours. There is an airport also I think but not an international one of course.

I shoulda saved my ribin stage from a previous Tour I made for this. Then again, that might’ve been too insane for contest purposes.

Also I’d assume Ventoux doesn’t need to be a summit finish since it’s not in the actual race this year?

Is it mandatory to include Mont Ventoux on the route? And is it allowed to climb Chalet Renyard via Bedoin and then descend to Sault?

What about Mont Saleve- is it considered to be Alps?

I hope so, I was gonna use it :D. Looking more closely both come under the region of "french prealps" so I guess not :(. Then again, the area of Le Grand Bornand from the real Tour is covered by that region so who knows! 59@@

I’d assume that area plus Semnoz is allowed to be used as Alps for our purposes even if it technically isn’t Alps geographically speaking.

Even if not it’s in a good place to chain into a “proper” Alpine stage the following day.
