Christmas Contest Special - The Tour of the Tours
Christmas Contest Special - The Tour of the last 20 Tours
Merry Christmas to everyone and to celebrate it we'll do an off-season contest between 2021 and 2022 contests.
The contest got in my mind watching the map above and it will be pretty simple
You should draw a Tour de France as you want, with your only constraints being the following
1. You can only go to the roads that were in the real TDF stages from 2001 to 2021.
2. You can't re-do a copy of a stage done in these years.
To get the roads, you will have to use the archive of LFR here: maps/races/view/2021/1
Rule is simple: if TDF passed on that road from 2001 to 2021, you can use it. Otherwise, you can't. Start/finish points is not mandatory to be the real start/finish point of the stages, but they should be realistic.
The deadline will be of course january 6, h 23.59

Re: Christmas Contest Special - The Tour of the Tours
How strict is this rule exactly?
Is it really ONLY roads and streets that have been used in a real TdF? Or can we add some 500m or 1km, for example for a safer finish section or to bridge between two parts of a city?

As far as I can tell a Denmark depart is practically impossible unless you reverse the time trial and finish / start somewhere into the already existing stages.

Is it possible to get all the tracks in one Tour, so we can see all the roads in one map, we can zoom in on?

Deadline extended of 15 days, to 21/1, due to lack of tracks.
After this, we'll start with regular contests.

Re: Christmas Contest Special - The Tour of the Tours
Hi guys. Here it´s my first Tour: maps/tours/view/20047
The date for this tour is with the 2022 schedule.
1st week:
Stages (9): 1 ITT - 1 TTT - 3 Flat + 1 Cobbled - 3 Hilly
We start in Bretagne in the well known Plouay. Mur de Bretagne for fighting for the yellow and 2 stages
for going to Hauts-de-France. TTT, cobbled and Epernay for the spicy in the first week, flat stage and
first contact with the mountain in Culoz.
2nd week:
Stages (6): 3 Mountain - 2 Hilly - 1 Flat
2 Alpine stages (1 short and 1 long). 2 Hilly stages with the longest stage for the July 14th. 1 flat in
direction to Perpignan looking the wind and first contact with Pyrenees.
3rd week:
Stages (6): 3 Mountain - 1 ITT - 2 Flat
We start the final week with two stages in Pyrenees (Short stage to Col de Portet). Flat stage for have
some rest for the last 2, the longest mountain stage and the final ITT. We finish with the ceremony in
Champs Elysee.
It's been difficult to bild a Tour with realistic transfers between stages. I enjoyed the challenge and
hope you like it.

Re: Christmas Contest Special - The Tour of the Tours
Hi, new here.
Fisrt time making a contest.
I know this is gonna sound weird, but can we present two entries to the contest? My head got full of ideas so I'd like to keep most of them in the contest, knowing if it's possible or not would help me to decide what to include and what not.
Given that, beautiful idea, good luck to everyone and have a nice day.
