Re: Contest #4 - UCI Road World Cup - VOTING

Honestly, I didn't care much for the rules, it's a race design competition and not a rules making competition :p although the idea of the original contest was interesting, I think the November to February calendar forced many to make races in countries where almost no one cares about cycling and tha...

Re: Contest #4 - UCI Road World Cup

Edit: To be updated with race description tomorrow morning, if mods close the thread earlier, I'll update stage description in the link clap UCI WORLD CUP SERIES https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/tours/view/14945 Unlike most, I decided to stick to the iconic/capital city contest for most of my rac...

Second place: Improb - You could've been fighting for the first place, but I saw some little mistakes that probably took me to put you just here. First of all, I want to congratulate you for the good race you designed, specially in the first week, where you pass through some really interesting plac...

Re: Contest #3 - Grand Tour of the Grand Tours - VOTING

FIRST PLACE - Brumdog66 This Tour has got it all. It seems I had quite similar criteria to Ellvey in judging this contest :p I agree with all he said about your race. The Torello stage with Coll de Bracons is great and so is the Rat de Penat climb as the first MTF and the Cuenca stage. Stage 8 to 1...

Re: Contest #4 - UCI Road World Cup

I think the rules are fine, different cyclists can have a different kind of season this way, each with a different recovery time. This way, a sprinter may have its recovery time for example around the Vuelta or the Giro if he doesn't partecipate while a climber may do it in February/March or right a...

Re: Contest #3 - Grand Tour of the Grand Tours - VOTING

One more time, the choice war difficult to make. I tried to let my emotions speak when I first saw the planimetry of each tour, then dig into the stages to elaborate my top 5. So here it is. 5th place : Pincoletto Your route seems pretty cool to me, well balanced and everything but I don't like the...

Re: Contest #4 - UCI Road World Cup

The editor doesn't seem to work in Southern and Northern America. How can I make races there and enter them in the Flamme Rouge layout? Anyway, how big must a city have to be to make a race there? Can a race start and finish from different places in the same cities? Can we have the finish in suburbs...

https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/tours/view/14304 From Santiago de Compostela to Paris, celebrating UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. Every stage has a theme, with 18 stages out of 21 starting or finishing from a UNESCO site. This is a way to promote a collapsing tourism industry after the heavy hi...

Re: Contest #3 - Grand Tour of the Grand Tours [Cat. 1]

Hey all! Only a pandemic could make me come back to tracking after basically a 2 years hiatus. Re: Contest #2 - Benelux Cobbled Classics - VOTING

First Place PaoloAGB: Perfect, just perfect all around. Two very little flaws is that I don't like how long the Ronde van Holland is (as well as its finish in Amsterdam) and your KBK version being a bit too flat (but I guess it's supposed to end in a sprint anyway Second Place JoostVanDeBeek: I'm n...

Re: Contest #6 - Voting

Pabloagb: 5th Place Mostly because the other courses (exception made for Nibali San Baronto who didn't make the cut for the same reasons Pablo is 5th) are really meh, either too easy or too monotonous without some real innovation or have the Alps being harder than the Appennines. You designed great ...

Re: Contest #6 - Giro Upside Down

After i watched all of those Giros and I tried to do one by myself, I understand why thare have been so few Upside Down Giros..simply not many viable steep climbs under Tuscany and Marche... :cry2: There are a fair few actually (not less than Spain) They are just hard to find on the editor (you hav...
