Re: Contest #5 - Tour de Pologne improved

My version of the Tour de Pologne: https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/tours/view/12656 I'm trying to put up a presentation, but I keep getting an error because the site can't update my post..? I'll try again tomorrow and see if it works then You using polish special letters? I had to avoid them (e...

Re: Contest #5 - Tour de Pologne improved

My version of the Tour de Pologne: https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/tours/view/12656 Poland is such a big beautiful country, so it’s a shame the Tour de Pologne always visits the same places. For this reason I tried to move the key part of the race to the Sudetes mountains, while still trying to ...

Re: Contest #4 - Voting

I had some doubts about even voting for this contest. I feel like a lot of people didn’t even try (or simply forgot?) to follow all the rules that were laid out for this contest (18 Merckx-victories, 23 days of racing etc.)... And my personal opinion is that if you don’t follow these rules, I can’t ...

Re: Contest #4 - The Merckxian Grand Tour

My Merckxian Grand Tour for this contest: https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/tours/view/12516 I don't have enough time to add a full presentation, but I do want to take some time to explain my choice for multiple sprints in a stage. In the 1970's-1980's most Grand Tours (or at least Giro and Tour) ...

Re: Contest #3 - Voting

Honestly speaking, I think the average quality of entries for this contest was pretty low… I didn’t see much routes I instantly liked, so it was quite tough to pick out 5 Tours which I wanted to give points. I personally had some rules to make my voting easier, some of the criteria I used are listed...

Re: Tour de France 2019

Kruiswijk is still close in the GC. Without Roglic in his team it’s full focus on him, and we have all seen how strong Jumbo is. I’d say he’s in a perfect position to beat Ineos

We can only have one entry, right? (I can't find the topic about this year's rules at the moment, just want to be sure)

Re: Contest #1 - Voting

I had some criteria before I looked at the routes in detail: 1) a start outside of Colombia would immediatly make your route drop in my personal ranking 2) stage/transfer distance was very important 3) of course, the altitude I didn't pay too much attention to the routes being practible or not, I ju...

Re: Contest #2 - Sping Classic Renovation

Do we need to keep a look at transfers between races, and keep some in the same region (like the Ardennes classics)?

Re: Contest #1 - Colombia Grand Tour

So, here's my Tour of Colombia. https://www.la-flamme-rouge.eu/maps/tours/view/11505 It's clear to see that a Grand Tour in Colombia would be very difficult to organize because of the few roads, and when there is a road it often is of bad quality (dirt roads..). Also the altitude was a thing to keep...

Should the Montreal and Quebec tracks be done on local circuits like the original ones in Canada?

Re: BinckBank Tour - Voting

5th: mauro-v1 Honestly speaking, I never would’ve voted for your route if I had more options. Starting in Germany, a stage to France, finishing on La Redoute… It’s all too much. I know it’s harsh, but I wouldn’t even consider this a real Binckbank Tour. 4th: piet_agoras-v1 I immediatly noticed the t...

Re: Tour Preparation Races - Voting

5th place: Diego12Alpe-V1 Good route, you covered all important regions of Switzerland in your race. But I would've like to see one more sprinter stage, one real chance isn't enough I think. 4th place: Lorenzo06-V1 I really like your time trial, it's a tough one, but really early in the tour, so the...

Re: Tour de France 2018 (Cat. 1, deadline on 7/7)

I decided to take a risk on this contest, creating a Tour de France without any real passage through the Pyrenees or the Alps. The big moutain chains is where everything has happened the last few years when it comes to the GC. Surprise attacks in medium mountain stages have become a rare thing, and...

Re: Giro preparation races (Cat. 3) - Voting

5th place: mauro - Nord-Alpen Tour I think your stages are a bit too long for a stage race of only one week. But the route is well made and the idea is quite good. 4th place: david.tuci - Tour of Dalmatia At first I tried to make my own track in this region, but I didn't know how to do it. So I alr...
