Re: Contest #5 - Voting

I first took into account the application of instructions, which has already eliminated from my vote all those whose last stage is not mid-mountain (no hilly stage), or those who have an arrival in high mountain (the Promenades des Anglais is not a pass ^^) FIFTH PLACE : AjachiChakrabarti If I had o...

Re: Contest #4 - Voting

Very difficult to find five courses to insert in the top 5. Many do not even have five stages references to Merckx victories according to the terms indicated at the beginning. Even if it was validated, an arrival in Aosta without the San Carlo, a stage online to refer to an ITT or to make a sprint f...

Ex: Can i have 3 days in Belgium with 2 half stages or I must have 5 full stages for country?
Good question, i've the same one... Is it five days of five stages/half-stages ?

Re: Contest #4 - The Merckxian Grand Tour

The 1973 Giro passed by the Monte Bianco tunnel, i'm sure! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFVCVccY1zg Thanks for the confirmation but i already believe him ^^ It's just it will never happen today. A tunnel of 11 km, it's impossible lol But, eh, it's the Giro after all. Why is impossible? If it's a...

Re: Contest #4 - The Merckxian Grand Tour

Is it possibile if you do Mont-Blanc tunnel (are you sure they didn't it in 1973)?. You have to keep San Carlo if you want to end in Aosta to be "counted" Never a race will pass by a so long tunnel, is it ? It's not a problem if not counted. Gran Piermonte is my 18th "Merckx arrival". The 1973 Giro...

Re: Contest #3 - Voting

Here's my vote for the contest : 5th choice : Bocmanis82 Good ideas, correct sequences but some mistakes that prevent to be higher. 4th choice : luigi.russo The sequences are good, the overall layout is excellent with strong points like Isola 2000 or Chalets d'Iraty. But big black spots for me, esp...

Re: Contest #4 - The Merckxian Grand Tour

1) The route was indeed tougher, Merckx attacked on Mottarone and the top of the climb was at 60 to go, with last 5kms unsurfaced. Start and finish in these years were in Marano Ticino. Don't have any other infos 2) The stage should remain a mountain stage 3) It means 23 days of stages+rest. If you...

Re: Contest #4 - The Merckxian Grand Tour

A few questions : 1) Was Grand Piemonte 1972 like 2018's edition or tougher ? I couldn't find any information of the edition 1972... 2) If a stage isn't possible anymore, with a moutain last climb nearly impossible to put in the stage but it's the same idea of the stage and the same city of finish,...

Re: Contest #2 - Voting

Chuimiento Omloop Het Paris : Good idea but not enough paved roads. Carreters blanques : Descent in Strade is nearly impossible. When slopes is 8 or 10% it’s irrrealistic. Your descent of Collet del Vent is totally impossible. And i think there’s not enough strade after that. SanRemo spanish : Very...
