Cobblestone proposals

Post by Pigna » 02/10/2016, 16:34

In this topic, you can propose new cobblestone sectors to be included in the map.

I remind you that the map wants to be an archive of cobblestones sectors of France, Belgium and the Netherlands, because we think that it's dispersive and unnecessarily laborious map also all those traits in cobblestones, that can be found in any old town. However, we have also included some particularly interesting cobblestones sectors of other nations. For examples we included the Appia Antica, which was addressed by the Giro del Lazio, or the English cobblestones walls, which often have nothing to envy to the Flemish cousins and for this reason they famous among local cyclists.

So, if you know a cobblestone sector that respects these requirements, don't hesitate to draw a stage which contains it and post the link here. We will consider it.

I would try to include the sectors used by the Holle des Ostens, a sportive which takes place around Halle in Eastern Germany and which includes several Roubaix like cobbled sectors. You can see the various sectors in this map:

Several months ago, I made this race in Brabant to group all cobble sectors I could find. Some of these are very short but can be walls

One question...
I found this very short (100 mt) sector near Velletri of Via Appia Antica. Unfortunately cobbles are only on the left, because the're covered by the asphalt. It would be a very hard cobble sector, if asphalt was removed. I'm not sure it's a real sector to propose, so I've asked here before trying to publish the sector.
